Had a fantastic time at Gravity Games Wednesday night Gundam, I actually managed to bring the start of a ZAFT deck from Gundam Seed. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to compliment it, so I added in as much card draw as I could. I decided to add blue to it, but really just adding in Bannarah, Zekes and some Unicorn Gundams for the top end. I did have an Epyon in there which won me the game in my first round which was awesome! I will go over briefly about my games and then talk about where I have taken the deck to.

Round 1:

Played against a Red/Green Zeon Aggro deck, which luckily wasn’t able to go wide in our match game. So I was able to manage all the units on the field with aggression. Having the Epyon and Zekes swing turn 8 for the win was nice. We played after this and he went wide turn one and it was over for me by turn 5. I really noticed I was not packing hardly any 1 or 2 drop suits.

Round 2:


Played against Kris’ Midrange White Deck, this was a really great match. It came down to a few combat tricks on his end to get the advantage he needed to close the game out. After the match we talked about some of the cards and what to add to my deck.

Played against Stevens White Blocker deck, this game was a blast. However I did mess up with my buster gundam and I really think that cost me the game. I need to get better about reading the cards especially in constructed, which boils down to just playing more games. I’ll have to find a website or something just to play hands. Steven just kept throwing the blockers out there and I couldn’t chew through them fast enough.

Summary

All in all I had 3 great games and they were all super close, Cody picked up the Gundam Seed starter deck with the models for me for xmas. So I’ve ordered some new cards for the deck too, so hopefully next week I’ll be ready. I think I will post the deck and talk about my thought process in another article.
