It’s funny when you sign up with things and go this would be great to blog about, and then get a few games in and realize you need to well, blog! I got wrapped up in the blitz of this game, and after catching the loss against those Amazons round one I just played about 20 games on BB2, so I now have felt almost every bad thing in a game, and feel numb to the dice rolls. From this numbness I have learned to put that off until the end of turn if you can. QUIT PICKING THE BALL UP AS YOUR FIRST ACTIVATION! But we learn, we get better and then we paint models.

Today’s match up was the Stormdorf Toilet Demons matched up against The Fanatical Fedoras! In the fourth game in the Gamer Geeks Blood Bowl league! Both teams showed up to Raging Gaezebo in Madison, AL! Fans from all around came out in the Sweltering Heat to cheer on for their favorite teams! The STDs came out hard, and came out fast knocking almost every Fedora off the hat of the sweaty lads just waiting for some high quality H2O! Unfortuneatly, young Almut Bacharach was caught by a beauty in the crowd, and as he was adjusting his fedora, Thunderbeast was there to defend that young ladies chastity. Squire Almut, and his youthful lust has been smote down by the Lady in the Lake, and cursed forever to play with the STDs as a PSA to all young squires. “If thou art lustful as Almut, then though shall be cursed, if though bust more than a nut”

The tears of young Almut’s dear mother and father were enough to make the Lady of the Lake feel sorry for smiting young Almut. She then decided to bless them with a sheath, to cast upon their bodies, thus protecting them from the STDs vicious assault. Through safe practices in driving the ball through the middle, being patient with the foreplay, the Protected Fedoras on the last turn of the half, SCORED!

At the half, players were reporting that they were fainting from not being able to breath in their protection. It seems that these nifty “suits” weren’t a blessing in the heat. The team in the half had decided that they would not need more protection, and would keep their distance if they could be blessed with better weather. After coming out from the dug out, the players were surprised to see a nice sunny day, and a nice cool breeze, it was the perfect weather for blood bowl!

This time fearing an immunity to penicillin, the Fedoras spent no time scoring another touchdown. Only this time it felt just a little bit better, and they were able to get it in a little bit quicker. The STDs realizing that their game was being reduced from well informed partners and lavish new medical treatments, sent their boogie man back out for some acition. Thunderbeast stepping up to young Arwin Kellermann as he was running to block for Nicole Rappiot, tripping the young squire and infecting his foot with gout. This was a complete surprise as now the STDs are currently changing from a venarial adventure, to attacking other players with salami!

The great Charcuterie shuffle was a complete success and Moltengrip was able to sink his feet into the endzone. Thus adding a score to the STDs board, and bringing the game to a wrap! I had a wonderful game, and I learned a lot from playing my opponent. He really helped me understand what teams you want to screen, vs block. He was able to knock almost my whole team down for two turns, then after that I caught a lot of breaks from dice rolls. That’s how blood bowl is, but that’s what makes it so much fun.
